A UI toolkit provides a collection of pre-coded customisable UI components that can ease the construction of user interfaces. Many UI toolkits are object oriented and some web toolkits, for example jQuery, work by extending HTML DOM objects. Note that every toolkit has a grain, styles of interaction that it encourages or makes difficult.
